| Comment: Would love to attend the reunion but at this time it looks as though we will not be able to make it. Kathy and I are in the area often because of 3 children and 7 grandchildren but we are not able to fit the 24th into our schedule. We also have 2 children in Florida and 5 more grandchildren that require attention as well. I am not a kid oriented individual but I have to have some time and responsability to all of them. We are involved in many other activities that require time as well ( ie golf, drinking a few beers-just a few of course). Since high school I have done many things but I currently work as a physician assistant performing Immigration Exams as well as Occupational Exams. I deal with no sick people anymore which is great, less liability. | |

What I have learned about life since 1970:
After graduating from FV, I learned that we are unlimited in what we can accomplish as human beings but we must work at it to be successful. The only thing that can ever hold us back is……us. The most valuable lesson I learned, however, is that in order to be able to truly love someone, I had to first love myself and develop a better sense of self. It has been a life-long process. Additionally, I learned the value of forgiveness…..to be able to forgive someone even if they were not willing to reciprocate. |

Name a teacher that had an influence on you and perhaps why:
There were many teachers at FV who nurtured and guided me. I’ll name just two: Joyce Landmark (English) recognized my strong writing skills and potential leadership ability and encouraged me to be a teacher. Bill Beckman (Athletic Director) served as one of my mentors and encouraged me to participate in after school intramural basketball to further enrich my high school experience. He was right and it later opened some doors to me in my eventual involvement in amateur sports management. |

| Comment: I'm still teaching 5th graders here in Sycamore. Our boys are all married now; three grandchildren, with another on the way. They are a lot of fun. I am really looking forward to the reunion. There are lots of people I would like to see again. | |
| Spouse's Name (including Maiden): | Diane |

| What I have been doing for fun the last 50 years: I taught 5th and 6th graders for 40 years, mostly here in Sycamore. I retired in 2014; Diane in 2017. While I enjoyed every minute of my teaching career, it was certainly time to go as my methods and philosophy of teaching did not mesh well with administration nor my colleagues near the end. I do miss working with the kids though. | |
