Brod Bruce

Five of us attended a memorial for Bruce held by his wife Kathy (AHS Class of 1971) at her home yesterday, 09 June 1970. Bruce fought cancer of the stomach for quite some time. His mother, who carpooled us to pre-freshman year football practice, was at the memorial.
Bruce lived a fiull life and was taken too soon.

Obituary

Age 55, died unexpectedly, Monday, August 6, 2007. Con was born October 17, 1951 to Charles E. Eggers and Catherine C. (Cooley) Compton in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Conrad was full of life. Experiencing as much as he could. Con never just tried something he absorbed it, throwing himself into everything full force. Con loved flying, diving, skiing, riding horses, sailing and shooting skeet, in which he trophied. He was a draftsman, drafting designs for ships and planes. Con raced boats on Lake Michigan, sailed around the Virgin Islands and he was a ham radio operator with call number N9WNT. He was very involved in the Civil Air Patrol, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and was very proud of his association with that group. Con will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Scottie dropped out on the first day of our junior year. I was sitting next to him in assembly when he walked out and never came back. We had stayed in contact throughout the years.
